Day 59 and counting...

Luke has now been in the hospital for 59 days! Whew! Most of you would say that's a lot, and you would all be sooooo right. I am really so tired of living in this little room that I just might spend an enitre day outside, in my pj's, when Luke comes home! We have missed the entire summer and everything that goes along with that. We only had 1 family camping trip and Luke and I had to miss that. We didn't get to BBQ on our new back porch that Brant worked so hard to finish. My tan is nonexsistant. Maddie had to spend the afternoon at a babysitter after her 1st day of preschool. I have to schedule 2 babysitters if Brant and I want to go out. Brant and I going out, also nonexsistant. With all that being said, we have made some great friends here at Primary's and we love all of them! Here are some pics of some of the staff...

These are just SOME of the MANY MANY MANY people who have been here day after day to help Luke on his long road to recovery. Hopefully I will be able to get some pics of those who like to run away from the camera. You can run but you can't hide.

Besides the many girlfriends (nurses) Luke has under his spell he has met some other cute little guys that are lucky enough to be at home tonight all snuggly in their beds.

As many of you know, in order for Luke to come home he has to be able to eat all of his calories by mouth, which is about 26-30 ounces a day, according to the doctors. Right now he can eat about 3-4 ounces a day. It really seems like he will never get to that goal, but 1 week ago he was only taking about 1-1.5 ounces a day. It does seem like he'll never get there, but he gets stronger every day and he can now hold his head up while on his tummy, and he can sit without assistance! WOO HOO Luke, what a champ! I'm sure he hates this room as much as I do so every little step is something to celebrate.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your endless journey! I was thinking about you guys today and wondering how Little Luke was doing... So glad that's he's slowly eating more and more! Don't worry, he'll get there. And, hopefully sometime VERY soon, that hospital room will only be a distant memory....

Oh Kim. You are wonderwoman. I am so sorry you are going through this LONG trial! Luke is going to learn about this someday and be so grateful to a mom who would stay by him night and day for months and months in a tiny hospital room. Your family is so beautiful and I know our Heavenly Father is watching over you and sustaining you guys. I miss you!
