So this week has been crazy with Birthday celebrations. We started the week on Saturday at the South Davis Rec Center with Maddie's "swimming birthday" (quoted directly from Maddie). I thought that in the middle of winter it might be fun to act like is was summer time and go swimming. We had all of Maddie's cousins and a couple of her close friends and of course her aunts and uncles there to help celebrate. I got a cake from Dick's market, which by the way is the BEST bakery in Centerville. We sang happy birthday to her and as she was getting ready to blow out her candle, her cousin Jackson jumped in and blew it out for her, spit and all, eww!! Maddie was so cute about it, she just cheered him on and thought it was so fun. Then we spent the next couple of hours playing in the water. By the time we were done, Maddie and Luke were worn out. Luke, by the way, HATED the water and was content to let his aunt Jenny play with him while Brant and I played with the rest of the kids in the water.
Sunday was another fun day with Luke's 1st birthday. Even though his birthday wasn't until Wed, we celebrated on Sunday so everyone could join in. With another cake from Dick's and some great family to help, we were able to happily celebrate Luke's 1st major milestone in his life and he loved every second of the attention.
As most of you know, the kids birthdays are Jan 6th and 7th. Yes they are 1 day apart and as much fun as this week has been, from now on they will be celebrating together until either one of them is old enough to protest.
So with that Brant and I want to say HAPPY BIRHTDAY to our little sweethearts, who knew this much love could fit into one little tiny human heart!
